金融 directly affects the lives 和 well-being of every individual 和 organization, whether financial or non-financial, 公立或私立, 盈利或非盈利. These individuals 和 organizations earn or raise money 和 spend or invest money. The processes 和 decision-making methods to carry out these activities are the purviews of finance, defined as the art 和 science of managing money. The study of finance is concerned with the processes, 机构, 市场, 和 instruments involved in transferring money between individuals, 企业, 和政府. Northwest's 金融 Comprehensive major is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools 和 Programs (ACBSP).
金融服务 prepares students for entry-level jobs in the insurance, investment management, 和 银行 industry. Students will acquire analytical 和 interpersonal skills necessary to provide financial advice to individuals 和 机构. Our graduates are prepared to seek licensure as a Certified Financial Planner or Chartered Financial Analyst.
企业融资 provides students with the tools to work within the corporate structure under the chief financial officer, where accounting 和 financial information is used to make corporate decisions. Students will learn how companies raise capital 和 optimize their capital structure between equity 和 debt. Students will gain an underst和ing of the corporate governance structures of firms 和 how a firm’s choices influence company performance 和 market valuations.
财务管理 prepares students for a position in management rather than a staff position in finance under the corporate treasurer. This option blends the knowledge of finance 和 management, so the student is prepared to make management decisions that require an underst和ing of finance. Almost all decisions in business require a balance of interests from all functional business areas, using the decision-making process 和 the tools of finance to guide the corporation to achieve its goal.
