The mission of the Association of LGBTQ+ Employees is to foster an inclusive, open campus community, advancing equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex and asexual people.
Affinity groups are designed to create safe spaces for members to share and process experiences. As allies, our affinity group also allows participants the opportunity to identify ways in which we can appropriately use our privilege to bring about social change. We attend Diversity and Inclusion (DI) events and collaborate with other DI Affinity groups in a supporting role as requested/desired.
The Community Connections group builds meaningful exchanges within the Maryville community among individuals of diverse backgrounds in order to bridge barriers and celebrate differences.
